The Hangover 2: In Review
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Warner Bros, Sequels, Comedy, New Releases, Theatrical Reviews,
If you liked The Hangover, does that automatically mean you should like The Hangover, Part II? Well, yeah… unless you expect too much from it. If you want to watch a very funny movie with plenty of call backs to its parent flick (you know, the reason it exists), and you’re excited about seeing lovable characters a second time around, you’ll absolutely enjoy The Hangover, Part II. If you’re expecting breakthrough comedy, deep meaning, something brand-new and never-before-seen, you might be disappointed… but why would you be expecting that?
Die-hard fans of the original probably aren’t, but the critics have been rabid in their dislike for the lighthearted sequel. It’s an almost-summer, holiday weekend ensemble comedy, and most movie reviewers are screaming for blood in their respective columns. Why? Because the movie isn’t original enough.

Remake News: Bradley Cooper as The Crow?
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Action, Adaptation, Remakes, Casting, Celebrity Gossip, Rumors,
It might be hard to take the headline seriously (we had to find three sources before we would even believe the story), but it could actually happen: Bradley Cooper may become the title star in a remake of The Crow. He’s reportedly in talks to take the role.
The original 1994 flick, based on the comic book, shot to cult fame as soon as it was released, but it’s always been tainted with a somber reality: actor Brandon Lee was killed during the filming of one of the movie’s more iconic scenes. Lee, son of Bruce Lee, was only 28 at the time.
Lee’s shocking death was the result of a props mistake on set; a live round was accidentally mixed into the blanks which were meant to be fired. The Crow, the story of a slain-before-his-time rocker who returns to the land of the living to avenge his dead love, was acclaimed by many critics.

Hangover Trailer Pulled From Theaters
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Warner Bros, Sequels, Comedy, New Releases, Trailers, Videos,
The Hangover: Part II probably isn’t the best movie for your niece, age 7... but the trailer for it is supposed to be. Pressure from the Motion Picture Association of America has forced Warner Bros. to pull their raunchy, monkey-infused trailer for the flick from movie houses. You can see the controversial trailer in the video above.
The objectional bit of the trailer is part of a scene featuring Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms together with a monkey and an elderly gent. Alan (Galifianakis) sticks a water bottle in the pants of the elderly gent, and the monkey… well, you can watch it above.
Expect a new trailer in theaters by April 15.

Box Office: Bradley Cooper is Limitless
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Columbia Pictures, Lionsgate, Paramount, Universal, Action, Adventure, Animation, Drama, Science Fiction, Comedy, Thrillers, Box Office, Casting, New Releases,
Who is Hollywood’s new $19 million man? Bradley Cooper. The Limitless star proved to be exactly that at the box office this weekend, scoring the top money-making slot with fans.
But Johnny Depp also easily proved his worth -- he didn’t even have to appear on screen to rake in $15.3 million with the animated Rango. Battle: Los Angeles, opening to horrible reviews, managed a modest $14.6 million to earn the number three position.
Matthew McConaughey’s The Lincoln Lawyer barely earned fourth place with $13.4, only narrowly edging out fifth-ranked Paul’s $13.1 million.

The Hangover 2: Who Isn’t Returning?
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Warner Bros, Sequels, Comedy, Rumors, Scripts, Upcoming Releases,
We’ve got it on good authority that the main cast of The Hangover will reunite in the sequel…all except for one.
Don’t worry - Zach Galifianakis and Bradley Cooper are definitely returning. Justin Bartha, the film’s hapless groom, and Ed Helms (the dentist) are also coming back. Even Ken Jeong (whose scene-stealing moment lives in movie infamy) and the film's bride, Sasha Barrese, will reprise their roles. So, who are we missing?

Box Office Breakdown: Very Small Take for Wes Craven
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: 20th Century Fox, Disney, Paramount, Sony, Universal, Warner Bros, Adventure, Biopics, Drama, Horror, Period, Romance, Sequels, Comedy, Box Office, Lists,
Neither Wes Craven’s name nor 3-D ticket prices could help Universal this weekend.
My Soul to Take, which cost an estimated $25 million to produce, earned a scary $6.8 million over the past three days. (That’s a figure that includes ticket sales from 3-D venues.) The movie, which debuted in sixth place, was just one of several horror-ific disappointments this week. Two-week-old Case 39 fell to ninth place while Let Me In dropped completely out of the Top 10.
Romantic comedy Life as We Know It raised $14.5 million, about $1 million shy of first place. (The Social Network was tops for the second time in a row.) Despite heavy promotion, Life was Katherine Heigl’s smallest debut since her pre-Knocked Up days.
Secretariat, the weekend’s other new wide release, galloped into third place with $12.7 million. Seabiscuit, in comparison, premiered to $20.9 million in 2003.
